In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the use of AI in various fields, including HRM. The advent of industries has led to an increased demand for automation, digitization, and agility in HR practices. AI has the potential to revolutionize HR practices, as it can enhance efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making in HR functions. One of the key areas where AI can make a significant impact in HR is recruitment and talent acquisition. AI-powered algorithms can scan resumes and job applications to identify suitable candidates based on predefined criteria, reducing the time and effort required for manual screening. AI can also analyze candidate data to predict which candidates are most likely to succeed in a role, thereby improving the quality of the recruitment process(Murugesan et al,2023).
In Contrast of the same Sri Lankan companies also tend to use AI based recruitment tools like Fetcher, Paradox, Humanly, Manatal,Findem in their recruitment process to enhance
efficiency, reduce hiring biases, and attract top talent.

AI can Help recruiters to identfy the historical data about a vacancy . This helps recruiters make data-driven decisions,
reducing turnover rates and improving the quality of hires.
4. Video Interviews with AI-Based Assessments
AI-powered
video interview platforms analyze facial expressions, speech patterns, and tone
to gauge a candidate’s suitability for a role. This type of interviews are widely use in recruiting of Marketing and sales persons where there expressions are more imporatnt to do their job correctly.

Challenges of AI Adoption in Sri Lanka’s Recruitment
Despite the
benefits, AI adoption in Sri Lanka faces challenges such as:
1. Lack Of Awareness on AI
Using of AI technology is a still challage in many of small and medium scale induatries in Sri Lanka due to lack of IT and technical knowledage of recruitment teams.
2. Data Privacy Concerns
Sri lankan data privacy and data protection laws are still in immature level hence both applicants and recruiters are hesitate to use AI tools in recruitment processes.
3. Compatiblity with existing HR systems
Most of the Sri Lankan Companies use out dated HRIS where its difficult to integrate with modern AI tools

Some major companies already implemented AI tools for HRM such as recruitment automation , performance monitoring , and for payroll . And data privacy concerns could be addressed by using Sovereign data center services with in Sri Lanka
